Self-Regulation Panel to Feature Former Exchange
Heads
and Top Officials of Self-Regulatory Organizations
New York, NY – On Thursday, April 15, the SEC
Historical Society, the Museum of American Financial History and the National
Council on Economic Education will present “Self-Regulation and
the Exchanges from an Historical Perspective,” a panel discussion
examining the past, present and future of self-regulation in the securities
industry.
The panel will feature former chairmen and CEOs of national and regional
exchanges, as well as top officials of self-regulatory organizations.
Panelists include Alger B. Chapman, former Chairman and
CEO of the Chicago Board Options Exchange; Arthur Levitt,
former Chairman and CEO of the American Stock Exchange (and former SEC
Chairman); Gordon Macklin, former President and CEO of
the NASD and NASDAQ; and William Morton, former Chairman
and CEO of the Boston Stock Exchange.
The panel discussion will be held at 4:00 pm at the McGraw-Hill Companies
Auditorium, 1221 Avenue of the Americas (2nd Floor) in New York City,
and it will be followed by a reception from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Admission
is by invitation only, but the public is invited to listen to a live broadcast
of the event online at www.sechistorical.org.
